Product Description
A taper roller bearing, also known as a tapered roller bearing, is a type of rolling element bearing that can accommodate both radial and axial loads. It consists of an outer ring, an inner ring, tapered rollers, and a cage that holds the rollers in place. Taper roller bearings are designed to handle high radial and axial (thrust) loads and are commonly used in applications where heavy loads and high rotational speeds are involved.
The concept behind a taper roller bearing is to distribute the load evenly across the rolling elements, reducing friction and enabling smooth rotation. The tapered design of the races allows for the accommodation of both radial and axial loads and provides stability under varying load conditions.
The inner race, also called the cone, is mounted on a shaft, while the outer race, known as the cup, is typically housed in a bearing housing or assembly. The tapered rollers are positioned between the cone and cup and transmit the load between them, allowing for the rotation of the shaft with minimal friction.
